We were very happy with the cleanliness of the apartment. It was very comfortable and had every convenience. It was a very spacious and well planned apartment. The separate toilet & basin is a very good feature for a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment. The bed in the second bedroom (near the entrance) was comfortable, but my friends said their mattress was very uncomfortable. The only problem I can think of was the old door handles, which did not work well and made a lot of noise when opening and closing in the early hours of the morning, waking others. The only suggestion I can make, is to add a sponge and dish washing liquid in the kitchen, as we only used cups and glasses, which did not require the use of the dishwasher. The free wireless internet was wonderful and the connection was excellent. The taxi rank at the end of the street on rue de Rivoli is very useful. We had a problem with the code to enter the courtyard changing without notice. This happened late in the evening after dinner and the temperature was below zero. Fortunately a visitor from another apartment was leaving and was able to give us the new code, as we did not have an emergency contact number for your agency (does one exist?). Check-in and check-out procedures were excellent and friendly, but I rated it at a 7 because of our situation. We had flown in directly from Australia and had been flying for over 27 hours. We arrived at midday and had requested an early check-in, but this was not possible. We were told we could check-in at 4.30 (which then became 5pm) and could leave our luggage at the agency's office, and wander about Paris until check-in. We were unable to do this, as the office was closed for the afternoon and we had to keep 4 suitcases with us. This not only restricted our movement, but also, Paris cafes and restaurants just do not have the room to accommodate 4 suitcases - and it is also embarrassing to enter a cafe/restaurant with so much luggage. We were unable to sit outside because the temperature was below zero and we were unable to go sightseeing as we had our luggage with us. Please understand that visitors flying in from Australia are jet-lagged and exhausted from the non-stop travel. We are not coming from the USA, where travel time is 8-10 hours, or arriving from another city within Europe. We travel for over a day to get to Europe and we really just need to get into our accommodation, shower and change. It is an unusual situation faced by Australian travelers when traveling directly from Australia to Europe. Hotel check-in times are usually between 12pm-2pm. 5pm check-in time is just too late, especially when we cannot leave our luggage anywhere and the temperature outside is below zero. Our first day in Paris was wasted sitting around with our luggage waiting to get into the apartment. Please be assured that we loved the apartment and the location.
